Bloomberg seeks editor for consumer news in Hong Kong

Bloomberg News seeks an editor to join the Asia consumer news team, covering a beat that includes retailers, luxury brands, casinos, food and beverage makers, clothiers and shoemakers, theme parks and the tobacco industry.

Knowledge of the industry as well as economic and financial markets in Asia is essential. A minimum of three years of business reporting or editing at a major media outlet is preferred. Proficiency in English is required.

The editor will also handle breaking news on issues such as acquisitions, company strategies and plans including stock offerings and capital spending. He or she is also required to edit in-depth articles on broad themes and profiles of newsmakers.

Necessary skills include the ability to write clearly and concisely under deadline pressure while being able to step back and see the bigger picture. The ability to work calmly in a high-pressure environment and to cooperate with colleagues in China, Japan, India and abroad is a requirement.
