Bloomberg is seeking an experienced editor in Brussels to coordinate coverage of European Union institutions, regional economic policy and set-piece intergovernmental meetings. The successful candidate will be at the nexus of a pan-regional reporting effort, creating and corralling ad-hoc teams of journalists and focusing their talents to deliver scoops on policy formulation and outcomes in the euro region’s post-crisis era. He/she will also be expected to handle coverage of some economic indicators.
Excellent news judgment, meticulous attention to policy detail and a capacity for hard work are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful journalist with pedigree who can marry original ideas with the demanding and changing priorities and needs of a major international news organisation.
Qualifications:
-Business or financial journalism experience; track record of breaking news
-Ability to write and edit accurately, quickly and concisely under pressure
-Experience of working in a real-time news environment is desirable
-Fluency in English is essential; fluency in major European languages would be welcome
