Bloomberg seeks economy reporter in Ottawa

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced reporter who will drive coverage of the Canadian government and economy out of our Ottawa office.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience covering Canadian policy at a major newspaper or news service. Candidates should have a record of breaking important stories and accustomed to producing clear and comprehensive enterprise pieces.

The ability to understand spoken French is a definite asset.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of three years of experience covering Canadian policy at a major newspaper or news service
-Proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate news stories
-Ability in French

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
