Bloomberg News seeks an experienced reporter/writer with a proven record of breaking news to work in Cairo as part of our economy and government team.
The candidate will be responsible for expansive coverage of Egypt, as well as other nations in north Africa, and will occasionally be called upon to assist in broader regional coverage. Knowledge of economy and the ability to clearly explain the interplay between economy and politics is essential, as is clear and compelling writing and a thorough understanding of Egypt and the region.
The successful candidate will produce breaking news stories under real-time deadlines, thrive under pressure and be able to tackle longer term enterprise stories with poise and clarity.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
-Journalism experience a must
-Experience working in a real-time new environment essential
-Experience covering economy and financial news desirable
-Attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy crucial
-Fluency in Arabic and English is essential
