Bloomberg News seeks an outstanding, seasoned deputy team leader in New York to edit and develop stories about telecommunications and media.
This management-level editor will work as a deputy to the team leader responsible for covering the telecommunications and media industries in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as U.S. East Coast technology companies. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of editing experience and be able to generate ideas while also working to develop those of reporters. The candidate should be able to handle a variety of stories, including fast breaking news, analysis of company strategy and industry trends, short blog posts, financial analysis and long-form narratives and investigative projects.
The applicant must possess excellent writing skills, a voracious appetite for news, a can-do attitude and a spirit that’s collaborative as well as competitive. A unique perspective and calm demeanor are welcome. Language skills, particularly Spanish and Portuguese, are a plus.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of three years of experience editing, preferably business stories
-Ability to write/edit quickly and concisely on deadline, while working gracefully under pressure
-Knowledge of the economy, financial markets and business
