Bloomberg seeks China overnight reporter

Bloomberg News is seeking a reporter to cover late breaking news from China. This position will be based in New York, working standard hours in New York, and focus on monitoring for and reporting on developments involving Chinese companies, government agencies and financial institutions during the U.S. day.

Candidates must be fluent in Chinese, have experience in quickly assessing the importance of breaking news and be able to stay abreast of developments across various industries and markets in China. The reporter should be flexible, calm under pressure, a quick learner and excel in a team environment. Knowledge of China’s economy, its companies and markets is preferred.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial journalism
– Strong news judgment; the ability to recognize news that is significant to markets and investors
– Fluency in English, Mandarin Chinese and Simplified Chinese script are mandatory; other Chinese language skills are a plus
– Experience working in a real-time news environment is highly desirable
