Bloomberg seeks billionaires editor

Bloomberg News is seeking an editor to work on its billionaires team.

The person in this role will help oversee the Americas coverage, working closely with our reporters in the U.S. and South America. The person in this role will calculate the fortunes of the world’s richest people, and identify and write about new billionaires who have not yet appeared in an international wealth ranking.

The job will entail breaking news and maintaining billionaire valuations for Bloomberg’s daily wealth ranking {RICH}, as well as write and edit investigative stories and profiles for Bloomberg’s assorted media properties, including the Bloomberg Terminal, Bloomberg.com, Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Five years journalism experience with excellent news judgment
-Leadership experience with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities
-Works independently with little direction and the ability to make decisions
-Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
-Motivated and inspirational.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
