Bloomberg News is seeking a reporter to help drive our agriculture coverage in the Americas and break news on the latest market developments. You’ll take on a crucial beat focused on soft commodities such as coffee, cocoa and sugar. Your reporting will span market movements, global trading trends, government policy, corporate strategy, farmer sentiment, and consumer and environmental issues. The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity about how the agricultural sector operates — from farms to boardrooms — and a keen sense of how developments ripple across global markets and economies.
Agriculture is making major headlines as Donald Trump’s policies reshape global trade, while US farmers are getting government bailouts as they struggle with weak crop prices and stiff competition from growing powerhouse Brazil. You’ll be responsible for delivering agenda-setting journalism that captures this upheaval — from scoops and breaking news to deeply reported enterprise pieces.
Working alongside colleagues in the Americas and across Bloomberg’s global network, you’ll stay on top of news affecting commodities futures, corporate moves and M&A, regulation and policy — and help bring clarity and insight to our global audience.
To be considered, please submit your application by Friday, February 13. We’ll Trust You To
- Monitor and explain market moves on major commodities, writing with precision and insight for sophisticated readers.
- Generate original story and project ideas that vividly illustrate how commodities markets influence traders, farmers, corporations, and consumers.
