Bloomberg News is seeking an ambitious editor to join our EMEA Technology, Media & Telecom team in London.

This is an opportunity for a journalist who thrives on breaking news, enjoys working closely with reporters to deliver distinctive enterprise and investigations, and is interested in helping shape one of the most competitive beats in business journalism. This person will be responsible for editing a wide range of stories, from fast-moving market and corporate developments to deeply reported features and investigations. They will work closely with reporters across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to develop ideas and ensure Bloomberg consistently delivers agenda-setting journalism for a global audience of investors and decision-makers.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in covering the media industry. That includes UK news organizations as well as the advertising, entertainment and broadcasting sectors. A deep understanding of the forces reshaping media business models, audience trends, regulation and ownership structures will be a significant advantage.

You’ll have a track record of elevating enterprise journalism, features and investigations, and bring deep knowledge of media, advertising, entertainment and broadcasting, particularly in the UK and Europe. You’re collaborative, working effectively across teams, bureaus and time zones, and curious about the intersection of business, technology, politics and culture.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Edit breaking news, enterprise stories, features and investigations across the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.
  • Work closely with reporters to develop original story ideas, refine reporting plans and elevate storytelling.
  • Help identify and pursue major themes and trends that matter to Bloomberg’s audience.
  • Ensure stories are accurate, insightful, competitive and delivered at speed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across regions and platforms to drive coverage and maximize impact.
  • Contribute to coverage planning around major industry events, earnings, deals, regulatory developments and market-moving news.

You’ll need to have:

  • Experience coaching and developing reporters, providing constructive feedback and editorial guidance.
  • Strong background in business, financial or industry news with the judgment to make good decisions under deadline pressure

We’d love to see:

  • Experience and interest in pursuing select reporting projects and original stories of your own.
  • Eagerness to take on greater leadership responsibility and drive ambitious reporting.
