Bloomberg News is looking for a fintech reporter in London. From Klarna to Revolut, Europe is home to a host of deep-pocketed startups looking to upend the financial industry and its legacy operators. We’re looking for a reporter to document the highs and lows of this fast-growing and turbulent industry.
You’ll be responsible for leading our coverage of the whole sector, from breaking news on deals and listings to profiling the most important executives and companies in the space to investigating how these new firms are impacting consumers, investors and other finance firms.
We’re looking for a self-starter with a vision for the beat and a determination to break the biggest news stories.
You should be a strong writer who is familiar with finance and is comfortable moving quickly between spot news, producing quick-turn features on the news cycle as well as longer-form enterprise across a variety of platforms.
Working across teams and formats is a vital aspect of the role. As part of the UK Finance team you will need to collaborate closely with teams across the newsroom, including our Tech, Deals, Wealth and Crypto reporters.
You’ll need to have:
- A minimum of three years reporting experience and experience breaking news
- Sound news judgement and a talent for looking beyond the obvious story
- A willingness to work well within a team and with others across the newsroom
- Ideas for new and exciting way to cover the world of fintech
- Multi-platform skills
