Bloomberg seeks a biotech reporter

Bloomberg News is seeking a Biotechnology Reporter based in Boston or San Francisco who can break news on important scientific developments, explain complicated medical concepts and technology to our vast audience of investors, businesspeople and decision makers, and show how what’s happening in the clinic matters to the rest of the world.

We’ll trust you to:

The ideal candidate for this post would have a hunger to break news and illuminate an often opaque and insular business and scientific community to the wider world. We’re looking for a reporter with a demonstrated capacity for writing clearly and authoritatively about complex science and medicine, a track record of scoops, and sources in the biotech, venture-capital and academic worlds. Biotechnology is more important than ever in a world that has been reshaped by a pandemic, and this role will require a reporter who is comfortable with collaborating across our newsroom on stories that answer big questions about health care, defense and preparedness, finance and macroeconomics.

You’ll need to have:

This reporter will also track the movement of public and private money into promising companies, and unravel what happened when those bets go wrong. Knowledge of markets, investing and the financial world will be important to this reporter’s success.
