Bloomberg Pursuits seeks senior articles editor

Bloomberg Pursuits, the bimonthly global luxury-lifestyle magazine, is looking for a Senior Articles Editor. Bloomberg Pursuits, which launched in 2012, is the sister publication of Bloomberg Markets, the award-winning global finance magazine published by Bloomberg L.P.

The Senior Articles Editor of Bloomberg Pursuits will report to the Editor of Bloomberg Pursuits and will have wide-ranging responsibilities, including developing, assigning, editing and packaging stories, with a strong focus on line editing. He or she will work closely with the Editor, along with the photography and design teams, and will be able to draw on the global reporting resources of Bloomberg News.

Bloomberg Pursuits, like Bloomberg Markets, reaches an exclusive and elusive group. The magazine’s 384,000 readers are affluent (average household income: $492,000), well-educated, well-traveled, predominantly male (89 percent) and relatively young (average age: 38); more than 60 percent reside outside the U.S.

Bloomberg Pursuits is built on the premise that the business and financial leaders who constitute our audience pursue their outside activities and interests with the same ambition, curiosity and zeal with which they pursue their professional endeavors. The magazine reports on art, fashion, food, philanthropy, technology, travel and more, with an emphasis on first-hand reporting and first-rate storytelling. Stories are illustrated with bold and original photography, illustration and graphics.

The successful candidate for the Bloomberg Pursuits Senior Articles Editor position should have extensive experience in all aspects of putting out a top-quality consumer magazine. Candidates should also be comfortable working on digital and broadcast platforms and should be able to represent the editorial vision of the magazine to advertisers. The Senior Articles Editor of Bloomberg Pursuits must be a team player, able to work in an open-plan environment with the staff of Bloomberg Markets and Bloomberg News, as well as with freelance writers and photographers around the globe. Prior experience with long-form journalism and news gathering a plus.
