Bloomberg Media is looking for a managing editor to manage the day-to-day operations and execution of its flagship online publication and coordinate a globally-focused digital news team. The ideal candidate has over four years of experience managing a web-first news operation, possesses a killer news sense on a wide range of topics, and can energize and manage execution for a large team.
Experience working at multiple levels of the newsroom – from reporter to top editor – is a plus. The job requires a commitment to the best journalistic practices, impeccable judgment under fire, and strong management and coordination skills.
The Managing Editor must be able to unite a large news organization and keep its daily workflows in motion while delegating key responsibilities to a diverse team of editorial leadership.
Responsibilities:
– Execute plan laid out by the Executive Editor across teams
– Coordinate on budget, sales strategy, and marketing plans with external teams
– Maintain publishing schedules and calendar
– Liaise with video, photo, and visual data teams on editorial efforts
– Work with the Head of Audience Development to ensure appropriate traction on social platforms
– Establish and iterate on newsroom workflows, team communication
– Cultivate and maintain collaborations with numerous Bloomberg teams
