Bloomberg BNA seeks legal editor

Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, and a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals seeks a Legal Editor I to perform legal analysis and write legal news stories for the Daily Tax Report.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Report, research, and write news stories and features (including complex and/or analytical pieces) on legal issues and developments; research, write, edit, and update material for reference publication(s); develop and maintain sources in the government and private sector; participate in production of unit’s publication; develop and maintain knowledge of issues in the legal field; act as back-up to the lead editor; and edit material from other BBNA services for inclusion in publication of assigned unit.

REQUIREMENTS: Juris doctor or substantial coursework toward a law degree combined with 2 years’ journalism or legal news writing experience; experience in legal research, analysis, and writing in federal and state regulatory, legislative, and judicial processes; ability to carry out assigned research and write news stories within daily and breaking news deadlines and with general supervision; excellent writing and organizational skills; ability to effectively interact with people at all levels, both inside and outside BBNA; and ability to effectively conduct personal and telephone interviews.
