Bloomberg BNA seeks a legal editor

Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, and a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals seeks a Legal Editor I to perform legal analysis and legal writing for assigned publications in the Labor and Employment News unit, primarily for Daily Labor Report and Employment Discrimination Report.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report, research, and write news stories and features (including complex and/or analytical pieces) on legal issues and developments; develop and maintain sources in the government and private sector; participate in production of unit’s publication; develop and maintain knowledge of issues in the legal field; and act as back-up to the lead editor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Juris doctor or substantial coursework toward a law degree combined with 2 years’ professional legal writing experience; experience in legal research, analysis, and writing in federal and state regulatory, legislative, and judicial processes; ability to carry out assigned research and writing projects within deadlines and with general supervision; excellent editing and organizational skills; ability to effectively interact with people at all levels, both inside and outside BBNA; and ability to effectively conduct personal and telephone interviews.
