Bismarck Tribune seeks a local news editor

The Bismarck Tribune, located in the capital city of North Dakota, has an immediate opening for a full-time multimedia journalist with news editor, layout and digital skills. We are looking for a leader who can manage reporters, plan and contribute to the daily news coverage, help coordinate design and grow our digital audience.

  • This is the newsroom’s No. 2 job.
  • You will have a voice in planning, developing and delivering impactful journalism across digital and print platforms
  • Plus you’ll help direct workflow and production while partnering with the newsroom’s top editor.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Bismarck Tribune reporters routinely win statewide awards for their coverage, and the Tribune has been named Best of the Dakotas for general excellence. We have a strong culture of collaboration in our newsroom, which makes it a great environment for the production of impactful journalism.

Bismarck is the state’s second-largest city and along with neighboring Mandan are along the Missouri River with miles of trails for outdoor recreation, along with a growing food and culture scene. The region also offers prime hunting and fishing opportunities and an easy drive to a national park. Bismarck-Mandan is a fun place to live and work, with the amenities of a big city without the traffic and high cost of living.
