Please pitch me at Better Homes and Gardens! We’re looking for compelling personal essays about a specific recipe of significance to your family. These will appear in print under our Family Recipes overline alongside your family photos.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Better Homes & Gardens aims to stimulate creativity, deliver know-how, and share fresh ideas on how to live a better, more beautiful, and colorful life. It is a go-to resource for home ideas, food and recipes for every day and special occasions, and garden know-how.
ABOUT THE ROLE
please interpret “family” as broadly as possible here. Families of choice with important recipes are absolutely welcome. Please email: emily.teel at dotdashmdp .com with Family Recipes Pitch in the title. Include just the pitch, a solid description of the recipe (ingredients, any special notes about method), and a little about yourself/your experience.
The biggest repeat issue I’m seeing so far is that most are pitches about people with a dish thrown in at the end. Please focus your pitch on a specific recipe for a particular dish. I already know you all love your moms and grandmas.
