Bay Nature has a new pitch form! As always, we’re looking for well-researched content about nature in the San Francisco Bay Area. No deadline for general pitch calls, as we publish regularly.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Bay Nature connects the people of the San Francisco Bay Area to our natural world and motivates people to solve problems with nature in mind. Its vision is that all people have a close relationship with their natural world.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We welcome proposals for San Francisco Bay Area-based stories about:

  • Environmental science
  • Species and habitat
  • Conservation issues
  • People working with nature
  • Environmental justice

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

Before pitching us, please research whether and how we may have already written about your idea.

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  •  $0.20 to $1 –  based on your level of experience as a reporter and the complexity of reporting required. We do not pay writers for op-eds.
