The Business Writer is responsible for producing business-oriented breaking news and features, writing people/business profiles and doing consumer-oriented articles.
The primary beats are state and local economic development, along with workforce issues. A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is required with a minimum of three years’ prior news or daily publication experience preferred. Knowledge of digital media and demonstrated ability to learn and use new technology is required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate good news judgment, language skills and accuracy, and must be organized and able to work independently, generate story ideas and demonstrate analytical skills. Must have own vehicle. Clips submitted should reflect the ability to do in-depth projects, analysis and/or investigative stories as well as spot news and features.
