Barron’s Group seeks an enterprise editor

Barron’s Group is seeking an Editor to oversee its Enterprise journalism teams, working alongside writers, reporters and freelancers to conceive and edit in-depth features and investigative stories. You will ensure that our coverage is always ambitious, relevant, distinctive, and forward looking. In this role you will edit content for originality, maintaining intellectual rigor and accuracy within our storytelling.

As with any role, our Enterprise Editor will enforce high quality standards and deadlines, partnering closely with partners to create clear, compelling graphics/visuals alongside a story.

The right candidate will:

  • Possess excellent editorial judgment and a deep and up-to-date knowledge of investing, personal finance, and the markets
  • Be equally adept at editing in-depth stories and adding insight to brief takes on news events, on digital platforms and in print
  • Have extensive experience writing/editing in-depth stories
  • Ability to effectively work alongside teams from across newsrooms
  • Be a generous, thoughtful colleague and mentor
  • Have an entrepreneurial outlook and thrive amid change

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
