Austin PBS seeks a copywriter

We are looking for a talented and motivated Copywriter to join the Austin PBS creative team. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maximize the talents of their partners on the team. As the CW, you’ll drive the messaging (and experiences) to deliver engaging content that meets the expectations of our members and prospects alike. You should be extremely strategic, focused and capable of concepting with teams through high-volumes of work while possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Develop award-winning creative marketing assets and experiences for Austin PBS.
  • Produce well-crafted and engaging written storytelling for a variety of platforms, including but not limited to station promo videos, website/seo, social media, email, print, out-of-home and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure all written materials are error-free and lead the charge to create Austin PBS’s editorial guidelines with a consistent tone of voice.
  • Collaborate with the larger marketing team to conceptualize and execute campaigns that drive engagement, awareness, and support for Austin PBS initiatives.
  • Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts.
  • Work closely with designers, art directors, video producers, and other in-house creative team members to develop compelling and creative campaigns.
  • Must be a team player, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience working for an agency or a major brand’s in-house creative department is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, journalism, or other relevant fields. Portfolio school and/or undergraduate degree a plus.
  • Must submit strong conceptual portfolio showcasing a variety of copywriting work across all media channels including video, social, website/seo, newsletters, etc
  • Bilingual speaking and writing capabilities (Spanish + English) preferred, not required
  • Have in-depth knowledge of brand development and 360º omni-channel marketing campaigns.
  • A solid understanding of copy and how it drives design ideation, with brilliant interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker and storyteller with broadcast and video experience.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing trends.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

This is a full time salaried position that is currently hybrid. Annual salary of $65,000 + commensurate with experience.
