ALM, publisher of South Florida’s Daily Business Review, seeks a South Florida-based reporter to cover the business of law for DBR and other award-winning legal, financial and real estate publications including The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, Corporate Counsel and GlobeSt.com.
The ideal candidate is smart, energetic, and familiar with the South Florida legal and real estate markets.
We’re looking for someone who is ready to break news and develop features on issues that straddle the legal and real estate professions, from billion-dollar property deals to law firm mergers and partner disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Produce breaking news stories on tight deadlines for local, national and international audiences
- Develop sources, establish and broaden a base of industry contacts
- Produce enterprise articles, including features and investigative pieces, while juggling daily news commitments
- Work well in a team environment with colleagues based around the world
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of demonstrated reporting and writing skills, especially for a business audience.
- Ability to develop ongoing source relationships.
- Good interviewing skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Experience covering the legal or real estate industries a major plus.
