AltFi, based in London, England, is looking for a junior reporter to help grow its coverage of fintech, digital banking and alternative finance.
The idea candidate might be a graduate or someone looking for a career change but it is important that they have a grasp of the basics of both news and feature writing.
Successful applicants will be able to show their proven experience and aptitude in journalism, or demonstrable enthusiasm to become a first-rate reporter, through, for example, work experience placements and clippings.
AltFi is after someone with an interest in our changing relationship with money—think mobile banks like Monzo, free share trading apps like Freetrade, and the world of alternative finance where Funding Circle and Moneybox are building new opportunities for investors.
This person should be keen to build their own network of contacts and sources and build a reputation for themselves, getting to know the companies and people who are leading the financial revolution, and telling their stories.
Journalism training or media law training is a plus, but not essential.
AltFi, founded in the autumn of 2013 by two veterans of the investment world who were seeking a forum to explain the growing world of alternative finance, runs an entrepreneurial newsroom in the heart of London.
