This is a remote position within the state of Texas.
Advance Local is looking to welcome a Life + Culture Reporter to our Texas team for our brand-new website launching this summer. The Life + Culture Reporter will tell stories that showcase the rich diversity and culture of Texas, from NIOSA to Charro Days, Eeyore’s Birthday and everything in between.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, music, art and telling stories that connect to readers. You’ll help readers find the best beaches, learn to make tortillas and laugh at all the ways that cascaróns have made Easter special. The Life + Culture Reporter will be comfortable taking photos, videos and creating clips for social media platforms, as well as engaging readers on Reddit and other platforms.
To excel in this role, you will be a driven, dynamic reporter and writer with the ability to deliver a high volume of content every day. You should be able to proactively identify stories that are trending and respond quickly, keeping the quality of content consistent and engaging.
