Acuris seeks financial services M&A reporter in New York

Mergermarket and Dealreporter, online financial news services read by deal makers and investors, are looking for a reporter based in New York to cover M&A deals and corporate strategy in the financial services and real estate sectors.

With interest rates rising and the Trump administration looking to reduce regulation, financial services deal making is expected to increase in the coming years. As Mergermarket’s FIG reporter you will be responsible for breaking news on banks, insurers, asset managers, REITs and fintech firms. In addition, this high-profile role provides an excellent opportunity to progress within the company.

The right candidate needs to be able to generate original story ideas, make new sources and quickly pick up financial information. An established source book of financial services industry or M&A sources is preferred, though applicants with a strong networking ability will be considered.

Key Skills:

  • Keen interest in financial services, fintech and mergers and acquisitions
  • Ability to pick up on trends and develop original angles for stories
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills
  • 4+ years of experience covering financial services, REITs or a strong track record of scoops on another beat
