Acuris seeks a bureau chief in Charlottesville

Acuris, a global publisher of financial news, data and analysis, is seeking a Bureau Chief to help set a new office in Charlottesville, Virginia, and build a team tasked with providing content for the products in our E&T (Equities and Transactions) divisions.

This editorial position will see the Bureau Chief spearhead our editorial and content operations in the newly established hub.

The company will provide tailored relocation assistance for out of state candidates. We are looking to fill this position within the next two months with the plan to open a temporary office by the end of the year. We will consider internal editorial candidates from products outside of E&T, who will help us in setting up of the local office, and become the company’s representative in the South East, assuming various administrative, and leadership responsibilities.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Assist with finding temporary office space, with the idea of getting permanent space after a year in operation.
  • Build and manage an editorial team in Charlottesville, whose primary goal will be to provide market-leading middle market M&A coverage and wider coverage for E&T products.
  • Drive coverage of key companies and sectors in the Southeast.
  • Regularly work with regional department heads to assess possibilities for content efforts and initiatives that can be supported locally.
  • Attend local conferences and actively network with dealmakers and executives in the region to help promote our brand throughout the Southeast.

Skills & Experience:

  • Leadership ability.
  • Ability to understand needs of our subscribers and provide actionable content.
  • Organizational skills, ability to handle admin tasks for the office.
  • Ability to network and develop key relationships for the business.
  • Strong team player, collaborator.                                                                                                                     

Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of business journalism experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and relevant sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
