Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role in a newsroom that has a strong team ethic. We learn from each other, help each other and make each other better. Based in the Kansas City metropolitan area, this role requires covering local business news by conducting interviews, developing sources and writing compelling news stories online and in print. In this way, we’re also a hybrid because we provide coverage on serious business topics from a community perspective.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in journalism and reporting
- Proficiency in news writing and general writing capabilities
- Solid understanding and experience in journalism
- Excellent research, interviewing and storytelling abilities
- Familiarity with covering financial and economic data or specific industry trends is a plus
- Self-motivated and deadline-oriented, with attention to detail
