Phoenix New Times is a free digital and print media company based in Phoenix, Arizona. New Times publishes daily online coverage of local news, restaurants, music and arts, as well as longform narrative journalism.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for freelance journalists with a solid news background to cover developing stories throughout the week. You should have a thirst for digging out the truth and a hunger for telling riveting stories. You should have sound enough news judgment to find stories suited to our urban readership. You should also have strong enough reporting skills to find multiple sources quickly.
Writers work under the guidance of an experienced editor in a small, but scrappy newsroom with a history of excellence, including numerous imam. and regional reporting awards. You will need to find and pitch stories, accept spot assignor., and turn stories quickly. An ideal candidate should be able to work independently and turn in dean, sometimes zany, always readable, always accurate copy.
