Ryan Sharrow, the managing editor of the Baltimore Business Journal, has been named the editor in chief of the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Jeff Blumenthal of the Philadelphia paper writes, “Sharrow comes to the job after nearly 14 years with sister publication Baltimore Business Journal. He spent the last 5 ½ years as managing editor, helping lead the publication to various American City Business Journal awards and Maryland-Delaware Press Association honors. Sharrow started at the Baltimore paper as a researcher before becoming a reporter and then new media editor, where he managed online content, multimedia and social media. He also served as a daily contributor to Maryland’s Morning News on WBAL Newsradio.
“One of Sharrow’s fondest memories is covering the Ravens’ 2013 Super Bowl championship in New Orleans as well as the ins and outs of the business side of the team’s second world championship. He’s an avid Orioles and Ravens fan and enjoys running, checking out both new and old restaurants, traveling and exploring the latest happenings around town.
“‘I’m excited to be working with the seasoned staff of the Philadelphia Business Journal and continuing to build on the publication’s success of being the go-to source for local breaking business news,’ Sharrow said.”
