The Verge has hired Kevin Nguyen as its features editor.
He starts on Monday and will report to editor in chief Nilay Patel.
“The Verge has always invested in deeply-reported longform stories about the impact technology has on culture,” said Patel. “Kevin’s critical eye and sharp sense of story will make our features program even stronger.”
Nguyen joins The Verge from GQ where he most recently served as senior editor. Prior to GQ, he was the editorial director at Google Play Books and Oyster.
His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Grantland, The Awl, The Paris Review, The New Republic, and elsewhere. Brooklyn Magazine named Nguyen one of the 100 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Culture in 2016, and to their 30 Under 30 list in 2015.
