Automotive News, a growing and dynamic news organization owned by Crain Communications Inc., is seeking a highly motivated full-time reporter and web content producer to cover general assignment auto industry news and assist in various web production tasks.
There will be opportunities for future advancement and career diversification at our stable, expanding publication.
Basic Qualifications
At least two paid automotive or business journalism internships for a respected news organization(s).
Minimum of one year of professional or collegiate web content development work.
Bachelor’s degree.
Background producing automotive and / or business editorial content.
Background of using various software packages to post live online content.
Knowledge, interest and enthusiasm for new cars and automotive product coverage.
Quality writing and reporting talent.
Ability to produce a variety of web content in real-time, particularly news stories and photo galleries.
Applicable undergraduate degree(s).
Multimedia skills.
Social media familiarity.
Collaboration, self-motivation, critical thinking and strong people skills. Team player is a must.
Must be able to work onsite in our Detroit office.
Must be able to travel occasionally.
Must be able to work later hours on Fridays when needed.
