Jess McCuan, an assistant business editor for the San Francisco Chronicle, is leaving to join Quid, a startup selling software for analyzing media impact.
Prior to The Chronicle, she was a digital strategist for Gannett and the Asheville Citizen-Times in Asheville, North Carolina. In Asheville, she was founding editor of a weekly food and entertainment guide, Scene, and founding editor of the women’s magazine Verve.
McCuan has held staff positions at Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and SmartMoney.com. Her writing about entrepreneurs, trends and travel has appeared in Fast Company, The New York Times and elsewhere.
She has a degree in philosophy from DePauw University and a master’s degree in nonfiction writing from Columbia University.
