Emily Wilkinson, the print editor of the Houston Business Journal, has been named the paper’s managing editor.
She succeeds Giselle Greenwood, who was promoted to editor of the paper.
A story on its website states, “Wilkinson joined the HBJ as assistant managing editor in 2011 and was promoted to print editor in 2013. Prior to coming on board at HBJ, she was assistant editor at Oil Daily in Houston. Wilkinson, a Houston native, received her bachelor of journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
“Wilkinson will oversee the day-to-day operations of the newsroom and website, and replaces Giselle Greenwood, who was named editor-in-chief in September.
“‘Emily knows the newsroom inside and out, and her sharp news acumen will boost our coverage further,’ Greenwood said. ‘I’m excited to have her on in this role.’
Cara Smith has been named the HBJ’s new commercial real estate reporter. Smith formerly covered money and law and is eager to tackle the dynamic commercial real estate industry in Houston.”
