Damon Cline has returned as business editor of the Augusta Chronicle after a stint on the editorial page and in public relations.
Cline writes, “Some longtime readers might remember me from the decade I spent as a business reporter and editor from 1998-2008. Some might even recall when I created this column before leaving the news business for a five-year stint in public relations and marketing.
“I rejoined The Chronicle in 2014 as an editorial writer, and I’m genuinely excited – and honored – to be in the business section again.
“You’ll be glad to know my esteemed colleague Tim Rausch, who has more than ably overseen Scuttlebiz and daily business coverage for the past several years, will still be heavily involved in local news for The Chronicle.
“He’ll just be doing it from our Columbia County offices, where he’ll focus on our sister publication, the Columbia County News-Times. Columbia County growth has arguably been the biggest local business story for a generation.”
