The Deal LLC, an award-winning financial multi-media division of TheStreet Inc., is seeking a M&A Auctions Reporter.
We publish a two-edition daily newspaper and website (pipeline.thedeal.com). The Deal provides breaking news and analysis when it comes to developments involving mergers and acquisitions, auctions, private equity, shareholder activism, bankruptcy, out-of-court restructurings and debt financing.
Responsibilities include:
- Report and write daily and feature stories
- Source development
- Lead generation
- Deal research
- Data inputting
- Data analysis
Desired Skills and Experience
- College degree in Journalism, English or Liberal Arts, recent grads welcome
- Must have 2 years experience in business journalism or in investment banking
- Ability to write several stories daily
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple assignments
- Reporting skills, more than just writing skills
- Collaborates well within a team
- Attention to detail
- Meets deadlines
