Eli Lake and Josh Rogin will join the opinion and analysis site Bloomberg View on Nov. 17 as columnists covering national security and international affairs.
“In story after story and scoop after scoop, Eli and Josh have made themselves essential reads in the world of foreign policy and national security,” said David Shipley, the senior executive editor of Bloomberg View, in a statement. “The work they do, a mix of clear-eyed reporting and authoritative analysis, has never been more important – or as valuable.”
Lake and Rogin will be based in Washington. Before joining Bloomberg View, both were senior correspondents for The Daily Beast and Newsweek.
Lake has been a national security and intelligence reporter for the Washington Times, a contributing editor to the New Republic, and a reporter for the New York Sun, United Press International and The Forward. He is a graduate of Trinity College, where he studied philosophy.
“It’s an honor to join the team of excellent journalists already at Bloomberg View,” said Lake in a statement. “We’re looking forward to offering View readers as much information and rich analysis as we possibly can.”
Rogin has been a staff writer for Foreign Policy and Congressional Quarterly, as well as a reporter for Federal Computer Week and Asahi Shimbun. He is a graduate of George Washington University, where he studied international affairs and economics. He was a 2011 finalist for Livingston Award for Young Journalists and the 2011 recipient of the Interaction Award for Excellence in International Reporting.
“It’s a privilege to join Bloomberg View, an organization that is growing and investing in great journalism and has a readership that is as passionate about world affairs as we are,” said Rogin in a statement.
