CNBC has fastest growing financial news site in September

CNBC.com is the fastest-growing financial news and information Web site for September, according to data from Nielsen NetRatings obtained by Talking Biz News.

CNBC’s unique visitors increased by 64 percent for the month. No. 2 was CNNMoney, which saw its unique visitors increase by 46 percent. Rival Fox Business Network‘s site ranked No. 3, with a 29 percent increase.

Yahoo! FinanceYahoo! Finance and Google Finance both reported 10 percent increases in unique visitors, while AOL Money & Finance reported a 9 percent increase.

Yahoo’s finance page remains the No. 1 financial news site in terms of total page views, with 779 million for September. AOL Money & Finance was No. 2, with 475 million page views, while MSN Money is No. 3 with 266 page views.

In terms of the total amount of time a person spends on a financial site, however, Google Finance ranks No. 1, with an average time of 32 minutes and 56 seconds. Yahoo! Finance ranked No. 2 at 30 minutes and 38 seconds. MSN Money’s visitors spent an average time of 20 minutes and 6 seconds, while CNNMoney’s visitors spent an average time of 18 minutes and 34 seconds.

In the battle between CNBC and Fox Business Network, CNBC has the upper hand in terms of page views and average length of visit. CNBC had 65.8 million page views and an average stay of 17 minutes and 7 seconds, while Fox Business Network’s site had 17.5 million page views in September and an average stay pf 7 minutes and 47 seconds.
