The New Mexico Business Weekly, an American City Business Journals paper, has promoted editor Nancy Salem to the role of publisher, according to a story. Kathi Schroeder has been promoted to editor.
The story states, “Salem is a veteran journalist with more than three decades of experience. She came to the Business Weekly from the Albuquerque Tribune (which closed in February), where she held the title of business editor for six years. She worked for the Tribune three times for a total of 11 years, including stints as a science and medical reporter, copy editor, features editor, and assistant news editor. She also worked for 12 years with the Associated Press in Albuquerque, and two years as a copy editor for the Omaha World Herald in Nebraska.
“Salem serves on the board of Junior Achievement of New Mexico and is a member of the United Way of Central New Mexico’s 2008 campaign cabinet. She is a University of New Mexico graduate with a degree in journalism.
“Schroeder joined the Business Weekly as a freelance writer in 2000. She worked as the paper’s real estate reporter between 2001 and 2004, and was promoted to managing editor in April 2004.”
