Nikki Waller, the bureau chief for management and careers at The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following staff hire announcement on Friday:
We are delighted to announce that Adam Auriemma will join The Wall Street Journal later this month as deputy chief in the Management bureau. In this key role, Adam will help drive and reimagine our digital coverage, and will bring wit and punch to our management, careers and workplace stories on all platforms.
Adam joins us from The Daily Beast, where as managing editor he ran daily news and feature coverage on topics from tech to health to counter-terrorism, and won Webby awards for outstanding news site in 2012 and 2013. He led the site’s coverage of last summer’s Olympics, the Newtown shootings and the George Zimmerman trial. He writes, too, and recently published an in-depth profile of Suze Orman and her controversial brand extensions. A native of Weymouth, Mass., and an NYU grad, Adam runs and swims in his spare time. He starts on Dec. 31.
Please welcome Adam.
