Annette LaCross will become the new editor of BusinessRockford.com, the business news web site run by the Rockford Register Star, on Monday, according to a story Sunday. She’s also becoming the business editor for the paper.
Melissa Westphal writes, “LaCross, 41, has worked as the assistant metro editor for the Register Star since March 2007. She succeeds Deborah Austin, who will become a reporter for the Register Star’s HealthyRockford.com. The site, which is expected to launch next month, will be a one-stop shop for local health-care and healthy living information.
“LaCross started in newspapers as a business reporter and later became an editor, covering the auto industry in Detroit.
“’Talk about a learning process,’ LaCross said. ‘I covered everything from business financing to real estate. It was a fantastic experience, and I really can’t wait to get back to it.’
“From Detroit, she went to Ohio, working as assistant managing editor and then managing editor at the Sandusky Register, a 25,000-circulation daily newspaper.”
