Maya Baratz, who oversaw the development and launch of WSJ Social as head of new products, is leaving The Wall Street Journal for a position at ABC News.
Baratz announced the switch on her Tumblr. At ABC News, she will focus on the strategy and development of new products.
Baratz had been with the Journal since October 2010. She led the ideation and development of The Journal’s standalone publication on Facebook as well as WSJ Social, and she also worked on new and social product strategy.
On her Tumblr, she wrote, “I feel lucky to have worked with an incredible, entrepreneurial team at The Wall Street Journal on projects like the launch of WSJ Social. I’ll miss this fantastic newsroom full of talented folks.”
Before that, Baratz worked at SF Weekly for a year and at MTV Networks. She was also a writer for The Huffington Post and Venture Beat.
