George Moriarty has returned to TheStreet.com as co-executive editor, according to a memo sent out Monday from editor in chief David Morrow.
Tim Johnson is the other executive editor.
Morrow stated, “George had been with us for five years, most recently as managing editor of RealMoney.com, before departing in the summer to be editor-in-chief at IDD. I can’t tell you how joyous it is to welcome George back into the fold in his new role.
“George is sitting next to Nikki in the cube formerly occupied by Aaron Task, who is returning to writing and being a video and podcast presence (read star), and I welcome him back to this role as primo commentator and multimedia celeb. I would like to thank A.T. personally for being my exec for two years, and know I can rely on him going forward in his new role as Editor-At-Large.
“It is with equal pleasure that I welcome back Adam Feuerstein, our award-winning biotech reporter and columnist. Adam is an enormously talented writer and reporter who routinely broke news on the biotech beat, and kept TheStreet.com front and center on our coverage. After working for two years as a research analyst for a hedge fund, Adam has realized that his heart is still in journalism. No one was made happier by this revelation than I was. As of last Tuesday, Adam is back in the San Francisco bureau as a senior columnist.
“And in the new faces category, please join me in welcoming Michael Katz to the staff as our assistant personal finance editor. Michael has extensive experience as an editor and reporter in the PF realm, including a 3-year stint at Forbes where he was both copy editor and reporter. Most recently, he was an editor for SmartMoney Custom Solutions, which produces investment-planning articles and marketing materials for clients such as T. Rowe Price, Ameriprise and Waddell & Reed.
“There are two new members of the copy desk as well. Eric Harding is a Yale grad who joins us from the New Haven Register, where he was a copy editor. Rebecca Corvino is an Amherst College grad who worked most recently at Washington City Paper.
“Finally, an overdue welcome aboard to Brett Arends, who joined the staff last month as our Mutual Funds columnist. Previously, Brett was a business columnist for the Boston Herald where he routinely broke news and provided trenchant insights about the fund industry, fund managers and fund investing. Brett, who is working out of the Ratings Group’s Boston office, is already off to a stellar start at TSC. His initial columns can be found here.”
