Beril Akman has been named deputy bureau chief in Istanbul for Bloomberg News.
She will continue covering the economy and government.
Akman joined Bloomberg in 2022 and previously was at BBC News in Turkey since November 2018. While there, she focused on social media trends and internet culture.
She also worked as a media analyst in the U.S. Embassy in Ankara.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University.
