The Daily Herald is seeking a curious, energetic business reporter to oversee a beat that includes everything from Boeing to tech powerhouses, energy fusion and local ports.  We’re looking for someone with strong storytelling skills who can write with authority.

They should be nimble enough to produce breaking business news stories at a moment’s notice while producing enterprise stories about trends and issues that affect retail, commercial, real estate and more.

We want someone able to conceptualize strong story ideas, identify, collect, verify and analyze newsworthy information and craft well-developed, well-told stories and projects. The position requires two or more years of journalism or journalism-related experience.

The Daily Herald, with the website HeraldNet.com, has been the leading news and information source in Snohomish County, Washington, for more than a century.  We are in Everett, a vibrant and growing community 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, framed by breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west and the Cascade Range to the east.

The position is full-time and the starting rate per hour is $20.50.  We offer benefits, including medical/vision/dental/life, short and long-term insurance, 401k with an employer match, EAP and Wellness programs, and paid time off.

Please email an introductory letter, a resume, and up to 5 samples of your best work to:  careers@soundpublishing.com and include “EDH BIZ” in the subject line.
