The NYSE TV Booking Producer supports a live, news-like program, broadcast from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) weekdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Eastern. The program, NYSE TV Live, covers timely matters, including news happening at the NYSE and its parent company: Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Through top-tier bookings, whom this hire will be responsible for, ICE/NYSE informs and entertains viewers on topical subjects in a way the layperson can digest. This role brings planning, organization, relationship building and strong news judgment to the program that’s streaming and on demand.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a planning calendar of forthcoming business news, including market events (such as Federal Reserve decisions), large-cap company earnings, economic data releases and product announcements. This will guide program bookings.
- Book about six guest segments per show that are informed by the news and, ideally, make news. On-site interviews are the standard. On occasion, remote appearances will be acceptable.
- Pursue A-list guests, including CEOs, athletes, celebrities, world leaders and other newsmakers.
- Turn to and build on one’s rolodex of guests to deliver a fresh show each weekday that grows reach and visibility of NYSE TV Live.
- Collaborate with colleagues, like anchors, producers and broadcast operations, to guarantee a smooth and efficient workflow. Brief colleagues on guests and interview flow.
- Manage on-site logistics of guest appearances: greet and stay with them throughout their time.
- Manage remote bookings by working with broadcast operations and guests to secure a reliable shot and audio. This may entail wearing a headset during the program to aid in communication.
- Follow up with guests after their appearances to keep the line of communication open and assist when needed, such as providing a link to their interview highlight post show.
- With strong news judgment, work with colleagues and guests to ensure the content of each appearance is maximized, both in covering current news and prepping topics that make news.
- Understand how data informs and makes news. At times, book guests who can bring data to life.
- Network internally to incorporate in-house events, visitors and colleagues into the program when it’s timely and appropriate.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and production schedules.
Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- Six to 10 years of experience booking high-profile guests for deadline-oriented daily news shows.
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and the NYSE is a plus.
- Strong networking, organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Schedule
This role is on-site in our New York Office.
New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between 80,000 – 130,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
