The Financial Times has appointed Leo Lewis as its new Tokyo bureau chief, responsible for overseeing the FT’s coverage of one of Asia’s most important economies.
Lewis was previously Asia business editor, writing a popular weekly column. Over many years in Tokyo he has been a prolific documenter of corporate Japan during times of significant change and upheaval.
Lewis is an experienced journalist with over 20 years of experience covering business and finance in Asia. He has been recognized by the SABEW Awards and the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards for his coverage of Carlos Ghosn, among other stories. He is fluent in Japanese and speaks Mandarin.
