Coopwood Publishing Group, a Cleveland, Mississippi-based media and publishing company, has finalized a deal to buy the Mississippi Business Journal for an undisclosed amount, reports Ross Reily of the Clarion Ledger in Jackson.
Reily writes, “‘As we embark on this new chapter as the proud and committed owner of the Mississippi Business Journal, my team and I am filled with excitement and determination to uphold its legacy as the premier publication for business news and insights in our great state,’ said Coopwood Publishing Group owner, Scott Coopwood. ‘With a thirty-six year track record in publishing award-winning titles such as Delta Magazine, Delta Business Journal, Delta Ag Journal, our weekly newspaper The Bolivar Bullet, and our three e-newsletters, my team and I are committed to leveraging our expertise and experience to elevate the Mississippi Business Journal to new heights.’
“Coopwood pointed to the many successful economic development projects that are currently taking place around state and that Mississippi’s narrative as a state is quickly changing for the better.
“‘It will be our business successes that will continue that positive narrative across the nation,’ Coopwood said. ‘And, our team will capture this incredible story, as a whole, and the amazing stories that make up that whole. At our publications, we have always strived to be more than just a source of news – we are storytellers, advocates and champions of Mississippi’s vibrant story.'”
