The Forbes HBCU Scholars program (formerly called Forbes Fellows) began in 2020 in partnership with Morehouse College, with the first cohort introduced in summer 2021. The program places HBCU students and graduates into the Forbes newsroom each summer, creating a pipeline for students of color to enter the journalism industry.

Asia Alexander
A journalism major in my final year at Howard University, I contribute to the variety section of the student-run newspaper The Hilltop. I also freelance for publications such as The Washingtonian and The Afro while pursuing my degree.
Tavon Thomasson
I am from Capitol Heights, Maryland, and am currently pursuing a degree in Multimedia Journalism at Morgan State University, focusing on honing my skills to achieve my dream of becoming an international news correspondent. I am excited to apply my academic learnings in a real-world setting, while enhancing my reporting and analytical skills.
