Elizabeth Wagmeister, chief correspondent at Variety, is leaving the publication for a new opportunity.
“Thank you to my colleagues for teaching me every day,” said Wagmeister in a note to her co-workers. “You have all become family.”
Wagmeister covered breaking news in the entertainment industry on all multimedia platforms, as well as longform investigations and write feature stories. After being named chief correspondent in 2021, Wagmeister developed video content for Variety, both as a producer and host.
Wagmeister joined Variety in 2014 as a TV reporter.
She emerged as a top investigative correspondent, covering the sexual assault trial of Harvey Weinstein, the conservatorship saga of Britney Spears and the sexual misconduct allegations that led to Matt Lauer’s firing from “Today” in 2017.
