Local News Now is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented reporter and editor to join our growing team in Northern Virginia.
The reporter/editor will report local news across a range of topics — including ocal government, local business, real estate development and breaking news — for our flagship site, ARLnow, covering Arlington, Virginia.
Other responsibilities include assisting with copyediting, assisting with training and internships, and occasional community engagement projects.
This is not an entry level position and applicants must have at least a year of professional experience to be considered, though 3+ is preferred. Reporters are expected to have basic photography skills.
Prior editing experience and existing local knowledge of the D.C. area is also preferred. Knowledge of how to use WordPress, Google Analytics, Slack, Asana, Photoshop and other digital tools is desired but not required.
This is a full-time, salaried position with health/dental/vision benefits. The initial salary range is $60,000-$65,000 with yearly bonus eligibility.
Our team lives locally and most work remotely, with periodic meetups. However, this position is expected to work from our transit-accessible office in Ballston three days per week, for collaboration and proximity to the coverage area.
